Nita Yunkaporta

Nita Yunkaporta was born in Aurukun in 1952. She is a Wik-Mungkan artist who has exhibited shows in Queensland and South Australia. She began painting in 2018 and has quickly become a sought after Aurukun artist thanks to her vibrant depictions of her Country. Nita was mentored by the late Mavis Ngallametta. Today, she enjoys painting with her best friends Jean Walmbeng and Janet Koongotema.
